A Professional Accountant in private practice and a CFP^® Professional, Prem is passionate about encouraging people to adopt good money habits and embrace a culture of saving.

To this end she chairs the Board of the South African Savings Institute and is a Trustee of the Financial Services Consumer Education Foundation set up by the Financial Services Board, Both organisations are dedicated to promoting financial literacy and encouraging saving and debt management among South African consumers.

Prem previously served as a member of both the FSB’s Long Term Insurance and FAIS Advisory Committees.

She is the former chair of the Financial Planning Institute and also served a three year term as a Director of the Financial Planning Standards Board, owner of the CFP^® mark outside the United States.

Prem holds a BCom (Accounting), MCom (Taxation) and an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.

A passionate cat lover, she finds the time to stay involved with various organisations that rescue, sterilize and find homes for stray animals.
