    Bringing the human back to the workplace with Celiwe Ross

    Celiwe is a mining engineer, turned investment banker, turned consultant, turned HR professional. She joined Old Mutual in 2017. Prior to her appointment as Human Capital Director, she was Chief of Staff in the office of the CEO. She holds a BSc Mining Engineering degree from the University of the Witwatersrand as well as an MBA from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. Some of Celiwe’s many remarkable achievements include graduating as the first black female mining engineer in South Africa and in 2016, she was recognised as Gauteng’s Businesswoman of the Year in the Corporate Sector by the Businesswomen’s Association.

    Celiwe is fascinated by the convergence of technology and people. She is passionate about women empowerment and is an avid reader, Afro optimist, foodie, wine lover and part-time jogger. She has an identical twin sister, she’s a daughter, a wife and proud mommy.
